Basically, negotiations have ended and its going to Court. R.I.P.

So even though the NBA lockout is NOW officially over, I believe that this picture represents the selfishness and arrogance of entertainment providers in America.
The National Basketball Association exists to please the fans, right? Thousands of people come to every game to watch the game of basketball be played which is added to another several million who watch the game via television. And God knows how much revenue the NBA generates when it comes through merchandise and marketing.
To be honest, without fans, the NBA would just consist of a group of barbarically, tall, sweaty players that would be playing basketball in an empty stadium, only to satisfy themselves. And commissioners wouldn’t exist because what would they have left to commission? Teams of five guys playing basketball with each other?
This being the case, people would expect that the NBA players would want to continue playing for the fans because they are the reason they are getting paid millions of dollars to throw a ball in a basket, right?
Wrong. This NBA lockout ,that was very close to eliminating the season for the year, just showed the world that the players don’t give a damn about the players. All they care about is money. I mean, I think we all knew that deep down, to be honest; everyone cares about money these days. But we did not know was that they cared about money this CLOSELY. The difference between getting paid 8 million as opposed to 9 million almost shut down one of the biggest sport  for an entire year. The players don’t care about us at all. Even though we’v known that forever, it wasn’t until this year the people, such as me, have taken this stance. And what is this stance?
Why should we care about them? This lockout is a negotiation between millionaires and billionaires. So excuse me for not caring about the NBA at this point. In the old deal, the revenue was split in the following way: The players got 57% of basketball type revenue and owners and commissioners receieved the rest. And in the new deal, the players would receive 50%.  There are two groups of people arguing over money that’s worth another pool in their 6000 square foot homes or even a new Lamborghini.
To be honest, I wouldn’t care if the season got canceled, and I’ve been a huge NBA fan since I can ever remember. I would want to see the players cry as one little zero was slashed off the end of their bank accounts. Nevertheless, the two sides finally came to an agreement and the season starts back up on Christmas Day, the day where the peak an biggest games occur. It will be interesting to see  how fan attendance and NBA revenue  will change, if so, this year.
